Becoming a member of the armed forces is a three step process.
- First, you will need to find a recruiter. To find the nearest recruiter you can look online or in your local phone book. A recruiter is your best source in finding answers about joining the military and your military future.
- The second step is taking the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery, better know as the ASVAB. The ASVAB is a multiple-choice test that displays your strengths and helps identify which military occupational specialties are best for you.
- The last step in becoming a member of the armed forces is visiting the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS). Here you will get a full physical, select your military occupation, be sworn in as a member of the United States Military, and be assigned a date to leave for training.
