Who makes a good motorcycle or small engine mechanic?

mechanic, small engine, trades, business, customer service

Usually people who believe they would make a good small engine mechanic know it early in life. They're the type of people attracted to work that doesn’t require paperwork or sitting at a desk day in and day out. They enjoy working with their hands and getting things done on a set schedule.

People who make good small engine mechanics obviously have mechanical skills, they enjoy working on power equipment and understand basic electronics. Small engine repair mechanics are in high demand to repair a variety of tools and machines, this allows for many opportunities for you to enter the profession. Motorcycle mechanics usually compete for fewer jobs, but once they do find one, they're likely to stay with it for a long time.

Small engine repair consists of working on engines in snowmobiles, lawnmowers, chain saws, jet skis, motor boats and other small gasoline or diesel-powered engines. The qualifications are not extensive because motorcycle repair degrees and small engine mechanics training programs are minimal vocational degrees.
